Aiming to achieve Carbon Net Zero at our new £2million factory site
We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment and our aim to reach Carbon Net Zero will be accelerated by moving to the new site. As part of the £2million investment Photovoltaic solar panels have been installed generating 20% clean energy while the remaining energy at the site on the Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, Nelson, will be from renewables.
There will also be electric vehicle charging points for employees and a streamlined waste management will be in operation. To help us set our targets and future planning Lee Ollerenshaw, a Masters research student at UCLan, recently visited the new site. ELE is not just looking at its own operations neither. As the world’s rising demands for cleaner energy quickens, the call on our technical capabilities is also increasing.
Manesh Pandya, chief executive, explained: “We have been working closely with our customers to provide components that will result in more efficient and cleaner gas turbines for power generation.” He added: “It’s important to us to be a responsible business and our journey to Carbon Net Zero will be accelerated by moving to our new improved, efficient and sustainable site.”
